The Principal Grand Central Glasgow has launched ‘Bouquet of Roses’ in Champagne Central celebrating Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s 150th anniversary.

The Scottish designer Charles Mackintosh is remembered as one of the artists who established the so-called ‘Glasgow’ style. He became a prominent figure in art and design in the early 1990’s after collaborating with “The Four,” a group formed by Mackintosh’s wife, sister, and colleague Herbert MacNair.

The cocktail menu features a blend of different ingredients infused with colorful roses – each cocktail is named after its characteristic rose. Champagne Central bar manager, Scott Kerr, said: “When creating the Bouquet of Roses cocktail menu, my main and most obvious inspiration was Mackintosh’s classic rose motif, easily one of his best loved designs.

“It represents elegance, and as Champagne Central is housed within one of the most elegant historic buildings in Glasgow, so the rose motif seemed to perfectly reflect the beauty of The Grand Central Hotel.”

The launch of the special menu accompanies Champagne Central’s recent décor makeover which created new seating areas, exclusive booths, marble tables, and an extended bar with a new graphic identity, making of the hotel bar a “perfect blend of a 21st Century hotel bar with a nod to its rich heritage”, the hotel said.
