Nicholson’s Pubs to use secondary spaces for annual Whisky Showcase

Nicholson’s Pubs has launched its third annual Whisky Showcase with a plan of exploiting secondary spaces within its pubs to deliver a “unique whisky experience”.

Working with whisky brands, including Glenfiddich and Copper Dog, a number of Nicholson’s sites will be turning sections of their pubs into dedicated whisky zones during the showcase. Each space will be designed to give drinkers an opportunity to find out more about their drinks..

At the Crown on Brewer Street, the upstairs area will be transformed to resemble the Copper Dog pub at the Craigellachie Hotel in Speyside, Scotland. The mezzanine at the Coal Hole, on the Strand, will play host to a number of Glenfiddich VR events, with visitors exploring the depths of its Scotland distillery and being given the opportunity to step into the mind of a malt master.

Nicholson’s Pubs marketing manager, Ross Timms, said: “Each year we hold the whisky showcase and it keeps growing in popularity. This year we’re really pushing the boat out and have teamed up with a number of great whisky brands to deliver some very unique experiences, from specialist tasting evenings to virtual reality events, giving whisky fans a real insight into the world of malt.

“Our pubs have some great spaces available and are in such brilliant locations, so it made sense to explore how we could really make the most of these during our Whisky Showcase. By transforming the quieter areas of some our pubs into dedicated, exciting whisky spaces, we hope to give whisky connoisseurs and novices alike a truly memorable evening.”
