Nest Shoreditch has announced that it will conclude its final service on 28 March 2026, marking the end of the brand’s nine-year tenure.
The site is scheduled to reopen on 28 April as Tavern, a British bistro concept from the team behind the Michelin-starred Restaurant St. Barts.
The transition marks a change in format for the venue, moving away from Nest’s signature monthly tasting menus toward an informal, à la carte service.
The new menu will focus on British produce and will feature dishes such as lamb scrumpets and veal sweetbread burgers, alongside larger plates like Welsh Wagyu rib of beef and Tamworth pork chops.
Kirsty Easterbrook, formerly sous chef at Restaurant St. Barts has been appointed head chef.
She will work with executive chef Brendan Appleby and co-founder Johnnie Crowe to oversee the kitchen, which will feature cooking over fire and daily changing of sharing plates.
Nest originally launched in Hackney in 2018 before moving to its current Shoreditch location in 2023.
The restaurant was noted for its whole animal butchery and exclusively British supply chain, principles that management stated will continue under the Tavern brand.
Johnnie Crowe, co-founder of the group, said: “Nest has been a part of our story for nearly a decade. We are proud of what it became, first in Hackney and then in Shoreditch. Tavern is about taking everything we believe in about British produce and translating it into a way of eating that we all personally love.”
