Thomas Franks has appointed Robbie Laidlaw as managing director for London, with effect from January.

Laidlaw will be responsible for overseeing the contract caterer’s operations and expansion in the capital, where the business already holds a number of high-profile client contracts.

He joins Thomas Franks from Genuine Dining, where he spent eight years as business development director.

In 2024, he was named Salesperson of the Year at the Foodservice Cateys.

Blain Shepherd, chief executive of Thomas Franks, said Laidlaw’s appointment would support the company’s ambitions in London.

Thomas Franks provides catering services across education, business and leisure settings in the UK.

Shepherd said: “Robbie is an extraordinary talent, and I’m delighted that he’ll be fronting Thomas Franks in London. He is incredibly well connected to the London food scene and I have no doubt that he will help to take our business forward.”
