Restaurant Associates, part of Compass Group UK&I, has acquired Grazing, the delivered-in workplace and venue catering specialists, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Sam Hurst, Grazing has grown from one café to a corporate catering business offering delivered-in meeting, office and contract catering services to London’s business and industry sector as well as event catering services.

In the last year, the company’s delivered-in model has seen more than 30% growth, with key wins across London. Dishes are prepared at its Bermondsey kitchen hub and 90% of deliveries are made on zero emission cargo bikes.

The company recently invested in an extension to its central kitchen operations, increasing its capacity by more than 50%.

The Grazing team will continue to be headed up by Sam Hurst, supported by chef director Sebastian Price and the existing management team.

By joining forces with Restaurant Associates, Grazing will gain access to a broader network of resources and support, enhancing its ability to scale operations and reach new markets.

The partnership will also enable the business to continue its innovative approach to zero-emission deliveries and more sustainable sourcing, aligning with Restaurant Associates’ net zero commitments and social value pledge.

Hurst, ‘Chief Grazing Officer’, said: “As a progressive business, we have always looked at how we can continue to grow and enhance our services.

“When we were approached by Restaurant Associates, we saw some immediate synergies: their relentless pursuit for quality, alongside their firm belief in developing strong teams through investment in people and the environmental commitments – made them the perfect partner to help us take our business to the next level.”

Matt Thomas, CEO of Restaurant Associates Group, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Grazing into the family. Grazing’s innovative approach to delivered-in catering, coupled with their commitment to sustainability, aligns perfectly with our vision. This partnership will allow us to enhance our service offerings, leveraging Grazing’s unique model and expertise to provide exceptional culinary experiences to our clients.”
