Chicken Cottage has revealed plans to reach 100 outlets worldwide by 2027 as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The UK-based QSR business currently has more than 60 outlets across the UK and a foothold in Kenya.

Both are prime markets for additional growth, while it is also targeting new markets in Europe.

Chicken Cottage anticipates existing franchise owners will expand their businesses with additional outlets in the UK.

However, as part of the programme, Chicken Cottage is looking to bring on a number of new franchisees.

This comes as the brand has undergone significant changes since the start of CEO Greg Milne’s tenure two years ago.

Under his watch the Croydon-based operation has overhauled the brand with a fresh in-store design, has introduced in-store digital kiosks and also created a mobile app.

These improvements, combined with changes across the management team, have put the business in a strong position to commence its expansion programme.

Milne said: “In the UK alone we’re looking at growing to at least 66 stores this year. Our growth for the next three years is set at reaching 100 stores by 2027. It’s quite an aggressive transition from where we were two years ago to where we’ll be in three years. Our target area for growth in Europe is France, Germany and Ireland. We are also looking at Africa, because we’ve got a base there already.”
