A new matcha-based coffee shop and dessert bar will open in Marylebone, London on 28 June.

Named How Matcha!, it aims to celebrate the “many health benefits of matcha”, whilst showcasing the “versatility” of the green superfood.

Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves, traditionally consumed in East Asia.

How Matcha! said it hopes to introduce matcha as an “accessible and unique alternative to the average London high street coffee shop” – with a selection of “well-crafted health-boosting drinks and snacks”.

Drinks on the menu will include; Immune with matcha, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, matcha honey and bee pollen.

In addition, the venue will also serve a selection of matcha-infused cakes and pastries alongside breakfast dishes such as Smashed It; avocado, dukkah, red pepper flakes on sourdough and Honey Trap, a dish of organic matcha honey on sourdough toast.

The cafe is located on Blandford Street, adjacent to Chiltern Street and customers can also order goods on UberEats and Deliveroo.
