The Dairy and Counter Culture restaurants in Clapham, London, has shuttered permanently, as the UK’s high streets continue to grapple with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Announcing the news in an Instagram post, restaurateur Robert Gill said it was with “a very heavy heart” that it was announcing the closure of the two sites.

Gill said this has been one of the “toughest decisions of our lives”, and that the pandemic “has hit us harder than we ever imagined it would”.

He added: “The Dairy has been our way of life for almost a decade, the memories created, the wonderful friendships (the bloodshots ), the bees, the people and culture of our little journey will never be forgotten.

“To everyone who has supported us, you all know who you are we can’t thank you enough.”
