One of Kent’s newest restaurants has closed just six months after its opening, as it served its last customers on 27 May.

The restaurant has blamed poor profits following bad weather on the high street for the closure. The restaurant previously named The Tipsy Pigeon and Paul’s Restaurant, served a variety of classic meat and fish dishes.

Owner Alice Lawrence said: “It’s with regret that our time here at Alice’s Restaurant is coming to an end. We’ve all worked very hard to give honest, simple food, at affordable prices, with friendly service however we have been unable to make a significant enough profit to make it viable for us.

“We’re grateful to all of our friends, old and new, for their support and wish you all the very best of fortunes in the future.”
