Gascon-inspired restaurant Monsieur Le Duck has announced the closure of its London Clerkenwell site after less than a year.

The restaurant, which started out as a pop-up premises in Spitalfields in November 2018 confirmed its closure on Instagram

It said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to leave our current site. We are busy looking for a new home.”

Monsieur Le Duck moved to its first permanent site in May last year and featured duck-focused dishes which included Duck Wellington, Duck Steak Baguette and Moules Marinière, a traditional French dish.

Last year, the restaurant moved sites which spread over two floors to accommodate up to 80 people. The upstairs area also featured a private bar for private functions and bookings.
