German Doner Kebab is reportedly eyeing a roll-out of sites across the UK, in a move that will see it almost double its presence with the addition of 47 new sites.

According to Sky News, the expansion, which follows a period of heightened takeaway sales during the pandemic, will reportedly create around 1,800 new jobs.

The German fast food joint already has 52 sites in the UK, and witnessed a 51% rise in same-store sales last year, despite ongoing restrictions amid the pandemic.

New sites are now set to open in Manchester, Newcastle, Blackburn, Huddersfield, Canterbury and Portsmouth amongst others, while additional sites in London and Glasgow are said to be in the works.

CEO Imran Sayeed said: “We have been extremely agile during the pandemic and there continues to be a huge demand for our game-changing kebabs.

“It is therefore very exciting to be announcing these latest growth plans for the next 12 months as we build on the great momentum we delivered during 2020.”
