Coffee shop chain The Gentlemen Baristas has been bought out of administration and sold for £785,000.

The chain previously called in an administrator from Parker Getty Limited back in January, after being “adversely affected” by higher costs of materials as well as the costs of sales and staff.

According to documents filed at Companies House, the chain received 16 offers ranging from the sum of £3,200 for individual assets to £785,000 for the whole business and its shareholdings in its two trading subsidiaries.

The Gentleman Baristas was founded in 2014 by Henry Ayers and Ed Parkes initially as a single coffee shop in Borough London. In 2018, it expanded to three further locations and then in 2022, the chain added nine sites as well as launching its own coffee roastery. However, the group now only operates four locations.

The Gentlemen Baristas has been contacted for comment.
