The Oarsman, based in Marlow, will re-open its doors in September under the new ownership of trufflehunting duo Nigel Sutcliffe and James McLean.

Located on Spittal Street, The Oarsman bar will be able to welcome 50 guests, while the Bistro will house an additional 50 people.

It will have some subtle changes before re-opening, including an open kitchen visible for guest

Sutcliffe and McLeanhave worked together for over 20 years, and the pair currently work alongside the team at The Crown at Bray which they have steered through the last two years.

The seasonal menu will use established local suppliers, and will include a curated wine list selected by Sutcliffe.

Sutcliffe said: ‘James and I are delighted that we will be reopening such a fantastic property in the coming months.

“We have some exciting plans for guests and hope that we can bring something to Marlow that complements the existing offering. We rely on our local audience and can’t wait to welcome them as soon as we are ready to.”
