Tasty African Food is has opened its first fully digital takeaway in Maidstone, after celebrating its 25th anniversary last year.
The West African food chain said its new location allows customers to order through in-store kiosks or through its app for collection. The brand added this model enables employees to hone in on preparing food and service, leading to faster turnaround times while maintaining the brand’s quality and authenticity.
The company said its new site marks the start of its next 25 years, “where tradition meets innovation, and more people can discover the true taste of Africa”.
This news follows the release of its mobile app last year, part of Tasty African Food’s commitment to using technology to enhance customer experience and accessibility.
Founded in 2000 in South East London’s Woolwich, Tasty African Food operates restaurants, ready meals and catering services based on traditional West African cuisine, primarily Nigerian. It has since expanded to operate more than 10 branches in London and Kent, saying it has become a “household name in London and its environs amongst the Nigerian community”.
Abolaji Modile, head of Tasty African restaurant business, said: “We are excited to announce the opening of Tasty African Food in Maidstone, marking a bold new chapter for our brand. For over 25 years, we have proudly shared the rich and authentic flavours of West African cuisine across the UK, bringing a sense of home to every community we serve.
“This new location features our first fully digital takeaway experience, allowing customers to order easily through our app or in-store kiosks. These innovations are designed for speed, convenience, and accessibility for everyone. Our goal is to take African cuisine beyond its traditional boundaries and invite a wider audience to experience its vibrant flavours, warmth, and culture.”
Simi Olaleye, business development manager, added: “We’re always looking for new ways to serve our customers better, and with our new app, we’re putting control back in the hands of our customers, offering lower prices, quicker service and a more rewarding experience.”
