Masakali, the Indian restaurant brand founded in Reading, has opened its first London site at 48 Stanhope Street, NW1.
The new restaurant builds on the success of Masakali’s flagship venue on Caversham Road in Reading, which has become known for “blending classic regional recipes with contemporary presentation”.
The London menu features a broad range of dishes across categories including small plates, tandoor, curries and biryanis.
Highlights include the Scottish sea trout with verbena and dill tikka, Old Delhi butter chicken curry and the Royal Tiger biryani.
The restaurant’s soup shots and sharing plates are also designed to showcase “diverse Indian flavours using premium ingredients”.
Masakali London also offers a selection of signature cocktails inspired by Bollywood, alongside wines, craft beers and classic serves.
The interiors feature a colour scheme of leaf green and royal velvet, with soft lighting and mixed seating intended to create a relaxed yet elegant dining space.
The team behind the restaurant said: “Inspired by the Bollywood song of the same name, Masakali’s concept is centred on freedom, joy and self-expression, we aim to reflect in both its menu and atmosphere.”
