Mambow Clapton, Abby Lee’s first permanent site for her modern Malaysian concept, will officially be opening its doors on 24 November.

The larger space has enabled Lee to add a larger kitchen including a hibachi grill allowing her to create new recipes using new techniques.

The bigger space will have 35 covers in total, with 20 seats inside and 15 seats outside in a semi-covered, plant-filled, garden terrace.

The new restaurant will continue in the same way as the old one but with an extended menu and drinks list.

Mambow was first brought to life as a pop-up on Commercial Street in 2020 before moving to Peckham.

Lee said: “I’m really excited to be opening our first permanent site, it feels like the natural next step for Mambow and I can’t wait to be part of the community in Clapton. It’s been a lot of fun playing around with the menu in a bigger kitchen and coming up with new dishes – people have been so receptive to everything I’ve had on the menu so far, so it’ll be nice to be able to introduce even more Malaysian flavours to everyone who comes down to visit.”
