Le Nusa has opened at 227-228 Strand, marking the concept’s first UK location following established sites in Jakarta and Paris.
The restaurant focuses on regional Indonesian cuisine, utilising contemporary techniques and a bistronomy-style service model.
The menu features dishes from across the Indonesian archipelago. Options include Udang Jeruk Bali (prawns with pomelo and lime), Bebek Sambal Andaliman (pan-seared duck breast with green chilli and andaliman pepper), and Soto Betawi (a coconut milk broth with ox tongue).
Larger plates include Tongseng Kambing, a lamb shank Javanese curry, and Se’i Sapi, which consists of smoked brisket served with sambal luat and basil.
The restaurant’s design incorporates traditional Indonesian elements, including batik-patterned walls and woven textiles.
The interiors also feature regional artistry such as suntiang and gebyok carvings.
Le Nusa said: “The London opening is intended to offer a contemporary platform for Indonesian culinary identity. The venue is designed to accommodate both lunch and dinner service, emphasizing a communal dining atmosphere.”
