London-based Indian restaurant Gymkhana has announced the appointment of Jitin Joshi as its new executive chef.

Joshi, originally from India, has worked internationally with a number notable chefs around the world, including London and Dubai. He trained at the Oberoi School in Delhi, before beginning his culinary career in Jaipur. In 2001 he moved to London under Eric Chavot at the Capital Hotel, which at that time held two Michelin stars.

By 2005, he was head pastry chef at Gordon Ramsay’s new restaurant, Maze, which went on to win its first Michelin star within a year. Following this, he worked at Benares for a number of years. He went on to take up roles at various restaurants including the Vatika, the Amal in the Armani Hotel and Atmosphere in Dubai.

His role at JKS Restaurants, the London restaurant group founded by Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi, will see him oversee all menus at Gymkhana, in Mayfair, which currently holds one Michelin star.

Joshi will also work alongside the founders during the restaurant’s projects and expansion.
