Epiris, the former owner of TGI Friday’s, is reportedly in talks to acquire the Casual Dining Group from administrators.

According to Sky News, the former backer of TGI is currently the frontrunner to acquire the restaurant group and while no deal has yet to be confirmed Sky sources said a deal could be announced in the coming days.

Reports also suggest that hedge fund Elliot Advisors are also interested in the group and other investors are interested in acquiring individual parts of the group.

The news comes after the group fell into administration at the start of the month with Alix Partners announcing that 91 of its sites would close permanently and almost 1,900 of the group’s 6,000 strong workforce would be made redundant.

Alix Partners has been contacted for comment.
