Chargal, a new three-storey restaurant, will open at 11 Berkeley Street in Mayfair this December.

The concept has been developed by restaurateur Serdar Demir, founder of The Mantl in Knightsbridge.

Demir, who has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years, stated the project continues his exploration of modern Turkish cuisine, combining traditional influences with Mediterranean flavours.

Chargal will feature three distinct spaces. The ground floor will focus on mezze-style dining, the first floor will offer a formal restaurant setting, and the basement will operate as a lounge for late-night service.

Open-fire cooking will be central to the menu, which reinterprets Turkish dishes through a “contemporary lens”.

Signature items will include Wagyu Iskender, grilled halloumi doughnuts, and Kuru Cacık, a version of the traditional yoghurt and cucumber dish.

The interior design incorporates natural materials such as wood, stone and metal, reflecting the restaurant’s emphasis on live-fire cooking.

Demir said: “Chargal reflects my journey of being Turkish-born and raised between two cultures in the UK, combining the authenticity of traditional Turkish flavours with the contemporary presentation and refinement of European dining.”
