Chef Patron Carlo Scotto has opened a new dining destination, Amethyst, in Mayfair which is centred around a real amethyst chef’s table and a continuously changing tasting menu.

Located on Sackville Street, the ground floor features the amethyst and quartz chef’s table, seating up to 21 diners. It is reportedly designed so that each party can enjoy their own space whilst providing an opportunity to interact with Scotto and his team.

Meanwhile, the lower ground floor holds the wine cellar, comprising an “extensive” collection of fine and rare vintages, whilst offering a six-course tasting menu option in addition to the 12-courses.

The dishes are inspired from travels through Europe and Asia, in particular Scandinavia and Japan.

Overall, Amethyst offers a three and five-course lunch, a six-course tasting menu, as well as a 12-course experience. The menu will change regularly based on the availability of seasonal British produce.

The chef’s table can be booked exclusively for special occasions, allowing private dinners for up to 21 guests. The wine cellar can also be booked for dinners of up to 16 or drinks and canapé parties of 30.

Scotto previously opened a restaurant, Xier, in Marylebone which closed due to the pandemic. Meanwhile, Amethyst is now open Tuesday to Saturday.
