Woolwich pub reopens after six-figure refurb
Externally, the pub’s outdoor area has seen an investment with new furniture and two new trough planters and a new astro turfed outdoor section

Woolwich pub the George IV has reopened following a six-figure investment, creating four new jobs in the local community.
Offering live sports, the pub has improved its amenities with three new Sky Q boxes enabling the pub to show Sky, Sky Sports+, TNT Sports plus sport on Prime. As a result, this enables the George IV to show multiple different sports, or matches at the same time, all on newly installed HD TVs.
Externally, the pub’s outdoor area has seen an investment with new furniture and two new trough planters and a new astro turfed outdoor section.
Three new professional-standard dartboards have also been installed while the revamped pool area offers a space for games, with free pool available every Tuesday.
The George IV will offer a selection of beers, ciders and wine, as well as an extensive offering of no and low alcohol offerings.
Sarah Linskey, operator of the George IV, said: “We are beyond thrilled to reopen our doors and welcome both new and returning guests to the new-look George IV. The refurbishment has enhanced our position as the best place to watch sports in the area, while our offering of evening entertainment and strong events schedule consistently provides our guests with fantastic reasons to visit our pub.
“The renovations have also allowed us to create a space that is more inviting and enjoyable for everyone. We can’t wait to welcome the community back to experience all the new features we’ve added as we begin our next chapter.”
