The Fox and Hounds free house on Oxford Road in Donnington, West Berkshire has been brought to market with a freehold asking price of £750,000.

The village pub and restaurant has been trading successfully for many years under the ownership of Nicholas Vine, with the day-to-day running being led by his daughter Stephanie Vine.

The property includes a recently completed extension which has significantly increased dining space and includes 98 covers indoors.

It also offers a large beer garden with outside seating for 80-100 patrons, as well as an apartment on the first floor including two bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen.

Trade at the pub is also bolstered by a loyal customer base and a calendar of popular events, including two annual beer festivals.

Planning permission is also in place for the creation of a further seven letting bedrooms in an adjacent barn on the site, offering potential to introduce an overnight stay offering as part of the business, along with ample parking and overflow parking leased at £2,500 per annum.

The sale process is being managed by Tim Widdows, associate director at Christie and Co, who said: “We expect strong interest in The Fox and Hounds due to the high quality of both the property and the business. It’s a rare opportunity to acquire a thriving free house with genuine scope for expansion in a sought-after West Berkshire location.”
