A new independent bar and kitchen, Squeeze, has opened on Kingsland Road in Dalston, featuring an on-site microbrewery and rooftop terrace.Set across three floors within Staycity Dalston, the venue will aim to act as a community hub offering food, drink and events inspired by the local area.

Squeeze serves an all-day menu using produce from nearby suppliers, including sourdough sandwiches from Dusty Knuckle, pies from Dulwich Pantry and pastries from local bakeries. Drinks include beers brewed on-site, cocktails, and wines selected from small producers.

The basement microbrewery, operated by 40ft Brewery, will produce Main Squeeze IPA alongside limited editions and collaborations under the name 40ft Below. Draught options include Disco Pils, Dalston Sunrise, 40ft Deep and several low-alcohol beers.

The drinks list also features spirits from East London Liquor Company and a range of classic cocktails. A curated wine list focuses on lesser-known varieties, including organic cava and an orange Grüner Veltliner.

Designed by Sasha Filskow, the venue’s interior combines retro colours, warm lighting and photography reflecting local life. Details such as upholstery patterned after the London Overground seating pay tribute to the surrounding area.

Squeeze will host regular book clubs, DJ sets and ‘vinyl only’ nights, alongside games including table football and darts. Its rooftop bar, open until 8pm, can accommodate up to 45 people and is available for private hire.
