A Mitchells and Butlers (M&B) pub, in Didsbury Manchester has announced that it will be permanently closing, as ongoing restrictions continue to take a toll on the hospitality sector.

In a social media post owners of The Stoker’s Arms stated that due to “circumstances outside of their control” the pub would cease trading on 9 February.

The venue which previously operated under the O’Neils brand was revamped in 2014 after it was bought by M&B.

In a statement the managers thanked guests for their “unwavering support” over the years, adding that the last 12 months have been “particularly challenging”.

The Stoker’s Arm team said: “There are so many things to be missed from bustling sports days, to fun-filled Quiz nights and crazy Christmases – although we can no longer welcome you back to create more memories in our brilliant pub, we will look back on these times with great fondness.

“Our general manager, Jen, would personally like to thank the rest of the team for their commitment and hard work throughout. It has been a pleasure working alongside such a fab bunch of people and, suffice to say, they have handled our closure like champs. It truly is heart-breaking not be reopening but sadly all good things must come to an end one day.”
