Greene King saw a 30% increase in online Christmas Day bookings in its managed pubs compared to the previous year, with a 13% increase in December alone.

With 45 million customers visiting Greene King’s websites annually, the company has delivered a multi-million pound investment which has transformed its online presence. Customers can now go online to find their nearest managed Greene King pub within seconds and make bookings in a couple of minutes.

The digital investment also included the launch of a new web platform, data capability and a new app that has been downloaded by 2.5 million users.

Clair Preston-Beer, COO of Greene King, said: “45 million people visit one of our websites every year, and so investment in our digital capability to address this customer base has been a key part of our strategic transformation. It’s therefore brilliant to see the tangible benefit of this investment in such an increase in online booking numbers during our important Christmas trading period.

“We are also delighted to have achieved our best ever customer experience scores in December, which is also encouraging more people to visit our pubs and is testament to the incredible work that our teams do up and down the country.”
