There are reportedly growing fears of imminent job cuts at sandwich shop chain Pret a Manger after a leaked video revealed a significant drop in sales.
According to BBC News, a video has been leaked showing Pret boss Pano Christou telling staff that an announcement would be made about the current “job situation” on 8 July after it was revealed its weekly revenue had dropped to just £3m – 15% of its normal income.
A spokeswoman for Pret told the BBC: “As we have already confirmed, at the end of May we appointed advisers to help Pret develop a comprehensive transformation plan to adapt to the new retail environment.
“Transparency is very important in our business and we will make sure that Pret’s team members are the first to hear about any changes. We will update our team members in early July once the plan has been finalised.”
Catering Today has contacted Pret a Manger for comment.
