Young’s Pubs has announced the promotion of Kara Alderin to the role of interim chief operating officer.
According to the pub group, since joining Young’s as director of operations in July 2020, Alderin has made an “incredible impact, leading the transformation of our pubs and bedrooms division”.
She brings a wealth of experience from her 30+ years in the industry, having started her career at just 13 years old.
Prior to Young’s, Alderin worked as managing director at Abocado, having previously worked at the Lensbury Resort and Fuller, Smith and Turner.
At Fuller, Smith and Turner, Alderin advanced swiftly from a recruitment manager role to head of operations.
Simon Dodd, chief executive of Young and Co, said: “Kara has added significant value to Young’s, and her leadership will ensure we continue to go from strength to strength in the months to come.”
Alderin added: “It’s an absolute honour to be steering the operational ship for Young’s. My first priority is getting out to meet all of you in our pubs. If you work hard and own your development, the sky’s the limit.”
