Valiant Pub Company has announced the appointment of chief operating officer Mark McGinty as chief executive, with co-founder Gerry Carroll moving to the role of executive chairman.
The leadership change will take effect from 1 July. McGinty and Carroll launched Valiant in October 2021 in partnership with investment firm Njord Partners.
The company now operates more than 90 pubs across the UK, with a concentration in the North East, North West, Midlands and Wales.
Valiant said the reshuffle marked a “leadership evolution” and reflected its “continued ambition and maturity”.
The leadership change will see McGinty take responsibility for overall operations and growth, while Carroll will focus on strategy, governance and supporting the senior leadership team.
McGinty and Carroll have worked together for more than 15 years, including senior roles at Enterprise Inns and co-founding Hawthorn Leisure in 2014.
Valiant’s leadership team also includes chief financial officer Jen Sloyan, managing director of operations Andy Parker, and property and acquisitions director Matt Jackson.
The company said it was well-placed for further expansion in the coming months, with a strategy focused on building a community-centric pub business.
