The Restaurant Group has announced that Alex Gersh, an independent non-executive director of the group and the chair of its audit committee, will be stepping down from his role on 1 July.
The group has announced that Loraine Woodhouse, who has been a member of the board since 4 July 2022, will take over the role of audit committee chair following Gersh’s departure.
Gersh has cited his decision to step down due to other work commitments.
He first joined the board on 23 February 2021 and is currently also a member of the nomination and remuneration committees.
Ken Hanna, chairman of The Restaurant Group, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Alex for the contribution he has made to the company over the last two-and-a-half years.”
TRGroup plc operates approximately 400 restaurants and pub restaurants throughout the UK as of 8 June 2023. Its principal trading brands are Wagamama, Brunning and Price and Frankie and Benny’s.
It also operates a multi-brand Concessions business which trades principally in UK airport.
In addition, the Wagamama business has a 20% stake in a joint venture operating seven Wagamama restaurants in the US and over 50 franchise restaurants operating across a number of territories.
