The independent pub company, Red Oak Taverns, has announced the appointment of Graeme Bunn to the role of property and acquisitions director.

It is reported that in his new role Bunn will spearhead the group’s pub acquisitions programme aided by the capital raised in the Red Oak’s recent refinancing.

He was previously the managing director for Fleurets and will be joining the Red Oak’s main board as part of his appointment.

Red Oak Taverns is privately-owned by its co-founders, Aaron Brown and Mark Grunnell, who formed the company in 2011. It currently comprises 208 leased, tenanted and freehold pubs, which are mainly concentrated in the South, South West, North West and the Midlands, with some sites located nationally.

Red Oak Taverns said it prides itself on its “flexible” partnerships with its tenant partners with the aim of developing “long-lasting” relationships.

Bunn said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the Red Oak team and I am looking forward to playing a key role as they continue to develop their business through pub investments and acquisitions.”

Mark Grunnell, CEO and co-founder of Red Oak Taverns, added: “We are delighted to have Graeme join our senior team. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge of our sector and as we begin the next phase of our evolution, he will provide both property and strategic advice as we seek to significantly grow our pub estate.”
