Pub and restaurant group The New World Trading Company (NWTC) has promoted Amber Wood to chief executive officer.

Wood joined NWTC in 2023 as chief operating officer and previously spent eight years at Loungers plc, where she was managing director of the Cosy Club brand.

The group has also appointed Jon Hire FCA as chief financial officer.

Wood and Hire’s appointments come as the group reports six consecutive quarters of like-for-like sales growth, up 7.4%

In a statement, NWTC said: “We’re proud to celebrate another strong quarter at The New World Trading Company, with like-for-like sales up 7.4% and six consecutive quarters of growth.

“Congratulations to Amber Wood on her promotion to CEO — we’re excited for the journey ahead under her leadership. We’re also delighted to welcome Jon Hire as our new CFO and look forward to working together as we continue building on this momentum.”

In a LinkedIn post, Wood said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as chief executive officer at The New World Trading Company.”
