Fuller’s has announced some changes to its board, as Helen Jones, having served six years as an independent non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee, has retired from her role.

As a result, Jane Bednall has joined the board as an independent non-executive director. She also serves on the audit and risk committee, nominations committee and remuneration committee, and has taken on the role of employee engagement director.

An experienced non-executive director, Bednall has had a successful executive career in customer-led companies including British Airways and Intercontinental Hotels Group, where she held senior leadership roles in marketing, brand, customer, digital and commercial.

She is currently a non-executive director overseeing AustralianSuper’s interests on the board of the Kings Cross Central General Partnership, and was previously a non-executive director at Enterprise Inns and DFS Furniture.

Michael Turner, chairman of Fuller’s, said: “We would like to thank Helen for her six years of invaluable contributions and advice to the board and we wish her every success for the future.

“We are delighted to welcome Jane to the board. She brings a wealth of experience and skills from both an executive and non-executive perspective. Her expertise in digital, marketing and brands across the hospitality and travel sectors makes her a great addition to our board.”

Bednall added: “I’ve always loved working with hospitality businesses and Fuller’s is a company I have long admired. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of its iconic pubs and to working with the experienced team behind Fuller’s success.”

Meanwhile, Robin Rowland has been appointed as chair of the remuneration committee to replace Helen Jones.
