Ormer Mayfair has announced that Kyle Lynch has been promoted to head chef by executive chef Sofian Msetfi at the Michelin-starred 4AA Rosette restaurant within family-owned hotel Flemings Mayfair

Lynch brings more than a decade of experience in the industry to the role. After several chef internships in the USA, his gastronomic journey progressed in Ireland, where he met Msetfi, working with him for three years at Adare Manor’s Michelin-starred Oak Room restaurant.

In 2020, he joined starred Japanese restaurant, Ichigo Ichie in Cork before returning to work with Msetfi at Ormer Mayfair as sous chef in 2021.

In his new role as head chef, he is now responsible for the development and implementation of the restaurant’s seasonally led British tasting menus as well as the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

Offering five and seven-course tasting menus, Ormer Mayfair combines British ingredients with organic and seasonal produce, including from the restaurant’s two-acre kitchen garden in Essex.

Regarding his promotion, Lynch said: “I’m delighted to step up in this new role and oversee the talented kitchen team at the restaurant whilst continuing to learn and be inspired by Sofian who is a great talent. I look forward to continuing to provide exciting and creative culinary experiences for our diners.”
