Young’s total revenues for H1 rose 27.2% to £250m, as like-for-like revenues rose 4.4% due to an “excellent” Euros turnout. Despite continued National Living Wage increases of almost 10%, utility costs and dual running costs from Young’s City Pub Group acquisition in the first quarter, adjusted operating profits rose by £7.1m to £38.1m during the first half. 

Compass Group UK&I has partnered with Street League to create learning and job opportunities for young unemployed people. Street League uses sport to tackle poverty and give young people opportunities to succeed in life and the workplace. The charity supports young people aged 14-30 who are living in some of the UK’s most disadvantaged areas.

Roxy Leisure will bring its concept to London in spring 2025. Roxy Ball Room, London, will be located at St Mary Axe, opposite the Gherkin and will feature the brand’s array of activities. In August, Roxy Leisure Holdings announced a name change to ‘Professionals at Play’.

The Dreamery will open on 5 December in De Beauvoir, London. Following the success of its Islington wine bar and restaurant – Goodbye Horses – and the adjacent coffee shop, Day Trip, co-founders Alex Young and George de Vos will be introducing the artisanal ice cream shop and wine bar as their third venture.
