Tortilla has announced a “significant” expansion of its partnership with global food travel group SSP today (28 October), which will see it grow its presence across UK travel hubs.

The new five-year agreement will see Tortilla’s presence in SSP-operated locations triple in size in the UK, from six to 18 sites.

It follows the successful launch of Tortilla’s latest airport location in Glasgow’s main departure lounge in September.

The expansion builds on Tortilla’s strong performance metrics, with its UK franchise locations delivering over 10% sales growth in H1 2024.

Andy Naylor, CEO of Tortilla, said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with SSP for another five years, particularly given the strong sales performance we have seen this year. SSP’s ability to secure prime locations in airports and travel hubs has played a key role in driving brand awareness and fuelling our growth across these sites.

“Looking ahead, we see major strategic opportunities to accelerate growth through expanding our franchise network in the UK and Europe, both with existing and new partners.”

Kari Daniels, CEO of SSP UK&I, added: “We have growing momentum in our partnership with Tortilla, including new outlets in Glasgow Airport and Leeds train station. We’re now looking to the future and the next stage in our journey together to provide more choice of great-tasting takeaway options at more travel hubs across the UK.”
