Roadchef has announced the opening of a new McDonald’s drive-thru at its Strensham Service station, located southbound on the M5, which enhances the service’s customer convenience and on-the-go dining options.
This addition to the service station, which is Roadchef’s seventh McDonald’s Drive-Thru across its 30 McDonalds restaurants across the UK, has led to the creation of 45 new team member roles.
It comes as the motor service area (MSA) operator is undergoing modernising improvements at its facilities to ensure that “motorists have a seamless and enjoyable experience when they choose to stop and relax”.
The drive-thru lane’s addition is said to complement the existing McDonald’s restaurant by providing multiple ordering options including drive-thru, in-store counter service, self-order kiosks, and mobile app ordering.
The project also included a reconfiguration of the car park to improve traffic circulation and parking, which enhanced the site’s overall accessibility.
In addition to the new drive-thru, Roadchef has recently enhanced its Strensham Southbound services by installing six new 360kw high-powered EV chargers in partnership with Gridserve.
Dan Sutton, operations excellence director at Roadchef, said: “This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to evolving with customer needs. The new McDonald’s Drive-Thru at Strensham Southbound offers unparalleled convenience for our customers, with multiple ways to order and a smoother, faster experience from arrival to departure.”
Strensham’s upgrades follow the recent transformation of Folkestone Services by Roadchef, where new additions – including McDonald’s and Costa – both feature drive-thrus.
