Fast-casual brand Grain has officially launched its flagship site at 272 High Holborn, as it looks to open 10 restaurants in major UK cities throughout 2026.
The Holborn site’s opening comes with a promotional event that will run from 19 to 24 January, offering a 50% discount across its set bowls, build-your-own bowls and matcha products. Customers can assemble bowls and pitas by choosing from a range of bases, proteins and dips.
Story Stream: More on Holborn
Grain Holborn’s interior was designed in collaboration with Terry Moore, whose previous work includes Hotel Chocolat, and features an open kitchen and a light-coloured layout intended for high-footfall urban locations.
According to the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant brand, it also has a long-term ambition to reach 50 sites by 2030. Grain has revealed it is currently in discussions with landlords, developers and investors about locations in retail, transport and university areas.
A Grain spokesperson said: “This grand launch gives us a chance to properly connect with the Holborn community. We wanted to create an event that encourages people in the area to come in, try Grain for the first time, and experience what our Mediterranean menu is all about.
“It’s about sharing great food, meeting our neighbours, and firmly establishing Grain in the London food scene.”
Grain was founded by a group of chefs and hospitality and retail entrepreneurs with experience operating multi-site businesses. The company positions itself as a fast-casual brand focused on health-led dining, with an emphasis on unprocessed ingredients.
