Chopstix has officially opened its first restaurant in Huddersfield as part of a wider UK expansion drive.

The site, located on King Street in the town centre, is the latest in a series of launches this year, following new outlets in Brighton, Leeds and Wolverhampton

The chain, which specialises in Chinese-inspired dishes, said it is targeting busy high streets and transport hubs where it performs well.

The Huddersfield branch is one of the first to feature the company’s updated look, with redesigned interiors and new operational features. Chopstix said the changes aim to improve customer experience and highlight its focus on “bold flavours”.

Sam Elia, co-founder and director of Chopstix, said: “We’re excited to be opening in Huddersfield and introducing our unique brand proposition to another great UK high street. We’ve seen huge momentum behind the business this year, and this is a testament to the strength of the Chopstix brand and our unwavering focus on quality, speed, and customer experience.”

Founded in Camden Market in 2002 by Elia and Menashe Sadik, Chopstix accelerated its growth after securing investment from quick service restaurant group QSRP in 2024.

The company said it is also exploring opportunities to expand into Europe as it pursues its aim of becoming the largest Asian fast-food brand on the continent.
