DP Eurasia, the company that oversees the Domino’s pizza brand in Russia, has announced its intention to file for bankruptcy and pull out of the country.

In an official announcement, the company said that in December 2022 it had already evaluated its presence in Russia, the impact of sanctions and its continuing ability to serve its customers.

DP Eurasia is understood to be the third largest pizza delivery company in Russia, and it also operates the Domino’s brand in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

According to the announcement, the external debt of the Russian segment is an amount of RUB 520m (£4.3m) which was settled by the group’s Turkish subsidiary out of existing cash resources.

The franchisee said: “With the increasingly challenging environment, DPRussia’s immediate holding company is now compelled to take this step, which will bring about the termination of the attempted sale process of DPRussia as a going concern and, inevitably, the group’s presence in Russia.”
