Gordon Ramsay has taken to Twitter to announce the opening of a new Street Pizza venue in Southwark on 5 November, as he tells followers the industry must “bounce back” from Covid-19.
In a video posted on the chef’s social media site, he said: “You may think it’s crazy opening a restaurant across these torrid times, but we are going to bounce back and we have to get this economy kickstarted and back to where it was.”
The celebrity revealed that the eatery will serve £15 bottomless pizzas, plus cocktails, wines and beers, and will open up underneath Union Street Cafe, another Ramsey owned restaurant.
On Twitter he said the project had been in the “pipeline for the last 12 months”, and the venue would feature graffiti style artwork from some of the UKs most “up and coming” artists.
The launch is the latest Street Pizza parlour to open in London with two other venues located in St Pauls and Camden.
Currently there are 15 Gordon Ramsay Restaurants in London. Back in March, the chef announced that he would end the contract of 500 members of staff in his UK capital restaurants in order to deal with the coronavirus outbreak.
