Q Catering has announced that it has won a sole supply agreement with Independent Catering Management (ICM).
After 15 years of sharing the business with Brakes, Q Catering has been awarded a sole supply agreement for frozen and chilled products.
ICM is a school meal provider in the Southeast of England and has been at the forefront of providing food to schools for over 26 years.
The company was founded in 1996 by Andrew Saunders with a vision of creating great food using locally sourced ingredients and suppliers.
Today ICM caters to more than 90 schools in Kent, Surrey, and Sussex and cooks tens of thousands of meals a day.
Andrew Saunders, managing director at ICM, said: “We have worked with Q Catering for many years, but in the light of adverse changes in the sector and the industry, we have decided to solely trade with Q Catering for all our ambient and frozen needs.
“Challenges are not new in contract catering. As always, flexibility and versatility are key to any successful business. Over time we realised that the opportunity of working uniquely with Q would give both additional support and control to our purchasing. Notwithstanding the need to flex as required, working with a company small enough to listen but big enough to deliver.”
Steve Clarke, managing director at Q Catering, added: “Winning the sole supply agreement with ICM has been a huge win for us at Q Catering. It’s been a joy working with the team there over the years and we’ve really come to understand their wants and needs, which results in a fantastic, collaborative working environment. We look forward to the years ahead.”
