Milan’s historic Pasticceria Marchesi bakery is set to open on 117 Mount Street, in London’s Mayfair area.

The bakery, which opened its first outlet in 1824, will offer a wide range of traditional Italian products such as panetone, sugared almonds and dragées. The outlet will feature both a pastry counter and cafe, which will offer a selection of hot drinks including thick Italian-style hot chocolates. The bakery is yet to confirm an opening date.

Keith Bailey, Mayfair director for property investment company, Grosvenor Britain and Ireland, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pasticceria Marchesi to Mount Street. This café and shop, a new amenity for locals and visitors, will grow the openness and appeal of our London estate.

“On top of that, Prada Group’s legacy and credentials chime perfectly with Mount Street’s boutiques, heritage brands and restaurants.”

Most recently the company was part-acquired by the Prada Group, with the new opening the company’s first outside of Italy.
