Cooks Coffee has reported a 28.6% jump in its total sales to NZ$49.4m (£21.8m) for its Esquires Coffee brand in the UK for the nine months to 31 December 2025.
It comes as like-for-like sales in the UK grew by 5.1% during the period. In Ireland, total group sales increased 27.7% to NZ$9.9m (£4.3m), with like-for-like sales growth of 6.3%.
According to Allegra World Coffee Portal data, Esquires has outperformed the wider market. The figures indicate that the UK branded coffee shop market grew 3.5% by outlet and 5.5% by sales value in 2025.
The growth continued into the fourth quarter as UK total sales rose 18.3%, with 2% like-for-like growth, while Ireland saw 26.8% total sales growth and 3.4% like-for-like growth.
The group expanded its UK network with 18 new stores and seven closures, leaving 81 stores trading at year end. In Ireland, four new stores opened, bringing the total to 21.
Cooks Coffee recently signed a 10-year master franchise agreement for the United Arab Emirates. The deal targets a minimum of 50 outlets in the region over the term.
Keith Jackson, executive chairman of Cooks Coffee, said: “We are delighted with the performance delivered across both the UK and Ireland during 2025. The continued growth in system sales and positive like-for-like performance reflect the strength of the Esquires brand and our long-standing focus on quality, organic ingredients and balanced food options.
“Against a challenging consumer backdrop, the business has continued to grow, expand the store network and outperform the wider market. We remain focused on disciplined expansion and supporting our franchisees as we continue to build the Esquires Coffee brand internationally.”
