Two major coffee chains, Black Sheep Coffee and Costa, have opened new sites on Edgware Road in the west end of London as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the area’s retail and hospitality offering.

Speciality chain Black Sheep Coffee has launched a 3,000 sq ft site at 124 Edgware Road, within the Regent House development. The brand operates nearly 100 outlets in the UK as well as locations in France, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

Meanwhile, Costa Coffee has opened a 2,000 sq ft café nearby at 108–110 Edgware Road. Founded over 50 years ago, Costa is the UK’s largest branded coffee shop chain.

The new openings form part of The Portman Estate’s wider regeneration strategy for Edgware Road, which aims to create a balanced mix of independent and national brands to support footfall and long-term growth.

Puja Dowlani, retail associate director at The Portman Estate, said: “Adding recognised brands to the neighbourhood is central to The Portman Estate’s vision of curating a place that caters to the needs of all stakeholders.”
