Villandry restaurant fails to find investor leading to closure of all London restaurants

Villandry has announced it has closed all of its London restaurants after it failed to find a buyer and rent doubled at the two sites.
BDO were called in as administrators for the company after it failed to find investors to support rising rent and business rates.
The chain’s outlet at Oxford’s Bicester Village remains open however the company is said to be counting the losses of the branch.
A Villandry statement read: “Martha Thompson and Sarah Rayment of BDO LLP were appointed joint administrators of Villandry Restaurant Foodstore Limited (‘the Company’) on 9 August 2018. The affairs, business and property of the Company are now being managed by the joint administrators.”
Hospitality tycoon Luke Johnson had emerged as a bidder when the company filed for administration last month but no deal was reached.
