Nandos denies ‘Tory discount’

Nandos has denied reports that it was partnering up with the Conservative Party to offer a discount to members.
The ‘peri peri’ chicken restaurant chain has denied reports, with a spokesperson saying: “Nando’s has no political affiliations as a brand and no political discount card exists.
“We have a Nando’s loyalty card and standard gift cards that anyone can use, and we offer a 20% discount to Police, Fire Services, Ambulance service and NHS staff.”
The Times said it had spoken to a “senior party source” who claimed that offering a Nandos discount was a “very real possibility”.
The Conservative Party is said to be looking at food and retail discounts in an attempt to combat Labour’s rapid membership growth. The Tories currently have 124,000 members, Labour has 550,000.
The denial will not concern Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg who was quoted by media as being “not a fan” of Nandos peri-peri chicken.
