Bakery chain Paul has announced it is looking to secure UK franchise partners in a bid to roll-out the chain on a national level.

The 38-strong bakery said that the “tried and tested” operation has been proven in multiple countries, and will provide franchisees with a national supply chain, as well as economies of scale, and a “flexible” retail format.

The group said it can offer partners a choice of three store models – Café (1,500 sq ft+), Express (500 to 800 sq ft+) and Kiosk (500 sq ft+), suitable for service stations and transport hubs, town and city centres as well as suburban villages.

It pledged that all partners will be “fully supported” throughout the set-up process, including training courses and help with recruitment, as well as marketing and PR.

Mark Hilton, CEO of Paul UK, said: “As we enter the franchise market, we will be looking for like-minded, experienced investors and operators who are just as passionate about baking and quality as we are.

“Whilst we continue to grow the brand in London, we have also identified numerous national opportunities outside of the capital, which will be enabled predominantly, although not exclusively, by working with franchise partners.”

He added: “We are currently determining priority cities, but if approached by the right investors outside of these areas, we are open to having dialogue with them”.
