A US presidency inspired restaurant named POTUS is set to open in London’s Albert Embankment on 31 October.
The restaurant led by Pablo Peñalosa Najera, who previously worked at El Celler de Can Roca in Spain, will aim to represent the “different personalities” of the 45 presidents. Najera says he wants to take diners on a “rollercoaster” at the restaurant.
Najera said: “It’s a great opportunity. London is full of great ingredients, that can help me to diversify. It’s American, but I’m going to try and bring a lot of classics and flavours.I want to transport my guests to Fisherman’s Wharf. Enjoying food as a kid. It’s very personal.
He added: “I started as a waiter at 16 in Mexico City, and after that I went to university to study gastronomy, to understand more about it, and I worked at several places in Mexico.”
Dishes at the new restaurant will include New England clam chowder, dry-aged steaks and the New Orleans dessert, bananas foster.
