Cantonese restaurant brand Mama Li has opened its third London location at Wood Wharf, Canary Wharf

The new venue, situated at 3 West Lane, opened on 11 February 2026 and specialises in siu mei (Cantonese roast meats).

The site features a dual-service model designed to accommodate both a sit-down dining experience and a takeaway service. 

The interior provides seating for 27 covers, while an additional 12 outdoor seats represent a new feature for the brand.

Designed by interior architecture and design studio Macaulay Sinclair, the space incorporates elements of traditional “Cha Chaan Teng” (Hong Kong-style cafés). 

The design features bespoke lantern-inspired timber lighting, neon Chinese characters, and a jade-green color palette. A dedicated meat window allows guests to view the preparation and carving of roast meats.

Operationally, the restaurant includes wall-mounted ordering kiosks in the grab-and-go section and a dedicated external delivery hatch to manage peak service flow.

Georgina Leigh, senior interior designer at Macaulay Sinclair, said: “Our goal was to create a space that is first and foremost a tribute to Mama Li – the owner’s mother, who has over 20 years of experience in the Chinese catering industry. We wanted to celebrate this culinary legacy and build on that personal connection, while also solving the complex operational demands of a modern Canary Wharf site.”

Catherine Hua, owner and director of Mama Li, added: “We wanted this new space to feel like coming home, while still offering the speed and convenience our modern customers expect. The entire design is an homage to the warm, communal spirit our mum brought to our family’s dining table. This is not just a restaurant but the evolution of our brand and a deep reflection of our roots.”
